New Pioneer DJ product ‘Nexus’ announced!!
Pioneer are due to announce a new edition to their product line today under the ambiguous name of ‘Nexus’.
Following hot on the heels of the Traktor DDJ-T1 and Serato DDJ-S1 which were recently announced by Pioneer (staking claim to the fast developing MIDI controller and mixer market) the new Nexus, appears at first site to be installed at the pro DJ and club install market whilst opening up the interface for Traktor and Serato users.
The promo is headed up by long time poster child and technical wizz James Zabiela, it gives some brief glimpses of the products top panel, which bares a uncanny resemblance to the DJM 800 along with a touch panel/strip which also appears on their new DDJ-T1 controller and CDJ 2000 alongside well timed USPs on the product.
Today could prove very interesting, Pioneer further acknowledging the increasing use of MIDI and DVS software by DJs alongside more traditional, cylindrical music play back methods. Will the new product help to unify a fragmented and diverse product base currently used by MIDI based DJs or will it join the already bulging collection of MIDI peripherals?
I look forward to seeing what is in store today.
